  Italian School, Early 19th Century
  
  Portrait of a Brother and Sister of the Bisshopp Family
  Unsigned, the artist identified as Anna Torelli of Florence (on a note affixed to the reverse), the sitters as Charles Bisshopp and his sister Harriett Anne
  Pastel on paper, 8 x 11 in., within an oval mat in a beaded and molded giltwood frame.
  Condition: No evidence of tears or repairs.
  
  Note: Inscriptions on a piece of paper affixed to the reverse appear to imply that this portrait shows Charles Cecil Bisshopp and Harriet Anne Bisshopp. According to the inscriptions, Charles died in Jamaica in 1808, and this painting was done by Anna Torelli of Florence. What appears to be a later inscription, dated 1820, is a memorial poem.
