Italian School, 19th Century
Carrara Marble Bust of a Classical Warrior, possibly Ares, the figure carved wearing a helmet and armor, with a full beard, unsigned, bust ht. 31 1/2, total ht. 39 in.
Estimate $3,000-5,000
The helmet with break and loss to front tip; one side flap with 1 1/2" edge chip; scroll at back with two large chips to one side. Overall numerous surface abrasions. Small chips along edges and to relief of oak leaf band to helmet.
