N.B.
Vue d'optique,
vue perspective or perspective view refers to a genre of etching popular during the second half of the 18th century and into the 19th. The prints were made to be viewed through a Zograscope or other devices of convex lens and mirror, which produced the optical illusion of depth. Intaglio optical prints have exaggerated converging lines and bright hand colors which contribute to the illusion of depth. The heading text is often printed in reverse to be legible in a mirror image.
