- Lot Description
Four Transfer-printed Plates, England, c. 1790-1810, a pair of John Rogers & Son earthenware dessert plates printed in blue underglaze in the Elephant pattern, border is printed in a floral pattern with enameled overglaze in rust, rust red, pink, and gold, impressed mark, dia. 8; a Spode octagonal indented earthenware dinner plate printed in blue underglaze with the Two Figures II pattern, impressed mark, dia. 9 3/4; and a Spode earthenware dinner plate printed in blue underglaze in the Forest Landscape II pattern, impressed maker's mark, dia. 9 3/4 in.
Provenance: The Zeller Collection.Condition
Condition: Two Figures II pattern plate: Good condition with one 1/8" and two very tiny chips to the rim.
Forest Landscape II pattern plate: Good condition with professional restoration to two chips on the plate’s rim. The reverse shows over plainting on the glaze.
Pair of Elephant pattern plates: In very good condition with no sign of damage or repairs.
