Four Pewter Highland/Scottish Regimental Buttons and Two Brass Cartridge Box Badges, c. 1775-1780, including a large size 42nd button with raised crown over "42" surrounded by a garland of flowers and thistles (Troiani/Kochan B42.c), a large size 71st button with incised "71" within a wavy border (Troiani/Kochan B71.n), a small size 74th button with raised "74" within a leafy ring (Troiani/Kochan B74.d), a large size 76th button with raised "76" within an oval and floral garland border (Troiani/Kochan B76.c), a brass cartridge box badge decorated with a crown, thistle Latin inscription "QUICQUID AUT FACERE AUT PATI" and "71" engraved on a circular plaque below the thistle (Troiani/Kochan B71PL3a), and a second similar example in very corroded condition apparently without a regimental number (similar to Troiani/Kochan B84PL4).

Condition: Buttons and badges are in excavated condition with surface corrosion and some losses on the edges. Shanks are not intact.
