Four Gerry Williams (1926-2014) Studio Pottery Red-glazed Chalices, New Hampshire, c. 1985, porcelain red-glaze bowls set on stems glazed metallic black, all with incised artist's signature, ht. 7 to 7 3/4 in.
Note: Williams was a nationally and internationally recognized master craftsman, teacher, lecturer, and author. He was the founder of The Studio Potter, a nonprofit membership organization, and editor of The Studio Potter Magazine, a journal about the aesthetics, technology, and history of pottery and about the personal lives of ceramic artists. On February 19, 1998, he was appointed as New Hampshire's first Artist Laureate by Governor Jeanne Shaheen. (New Hampshire State Council on the Arts)Condition
