Five Transfer-printed Plates, England, c. 1790-1890, a Wedgwood earthenware dinner plate printed in blue underglaze with the line-engraved Elephant and Howdah pattern, impressed maker's mark, dia. 9 3/4; an earthenware dinner plate printed in blue underglaze with the Parasol and Birds #2 pattern, unmarked, attributed to Rainforth, dia. 9 1/4; an earthenware dinner plate printed in blue underglaze with the Chinese Fishermen pattern, impressed retailer's mark, dia. 9 3/4; an earthenware dinner plate printed in medium blue underglaze in the Jar and Fisherman pattern, printed workman’s mark and an impressed “4” mark, dia. 10; and a round ironstone plate printed in black underglaze with a factory-named pattern “Oriental,” gilding overglaze to the floral border, printed pattern name and painted pattern number, attributed to Till & Son, dia. 10 1/2 in.

Condition
Condition: Elephant and Howdah plate: Good condition wit two chips on the edge of the plate restored, one at 11 o’clock and one at 1 o’clock.
Chinese Fisherman plate: Very good condition with one very small firing mark on the front edge and stilt marks on the back.
Parasol and Birds #2, Jar and Fisherman, and Oriental plates: In very good condition with no evidence of chips, cracks, or restorations.
