- Lot Description
Five Transfer-printed Plates, England, c. 1800-1820, an earthenware plate printed in blue and painted polychrome underglaze with the Obelisk pattern, over the glaze enameling on the flowers in the central pattern and on the border, brown enameled rim, unmarked, dia. 8 1/2; earthenware dinner plate printed in blue underglaze with the Fisherman Willow pattern, unmarked, dia. 9 3/8; a William & John Turner earthenware dinner plate printed in blue underglaze with the Flame Plant pattern, impressed maker's mark, dia. 8; an indented earthenware dinner plate printed in blue underglaze with a variation of the Mandarin pattern, large hand-impressed "B" to the underside, dia. 9 3/4; and an indented earthenware dinner plate with the Buddleia, Twisted Intertwined Tree variation pattern, printed workman's mark, dia. 9 1/2 in.
Provenance: The Zeller Collection.Condition
Condition: Each plate in very good condition. The Flame Plant pattern plate good condition with small chips around the rim. The Obelisks pattern plate with one minor stain on the front and some staining on the back of the plate
