Lady Liberty Leading the Way: An Allegory, France and the United States
Signed "F. Le Quesne" l.r., identified on an auction label and on an exhibition label from The Museum of the Borough of Brooklyn (see below), both affixed to the stretcher, impressed with stamp "SCHWEITZER GALLERIES" in two places on the stretcher.
Oil on canvas, 39 1/4 x 25 3/8 in. (99.5 x 64.5 cm), framed.
Condition: Small tear to l.r. quadrant, craquelure, minor abrasions, minor surface grime.

Horizontal tear measuring 1/2 inch across located at l.r. edge, to the left of the lantern, 2 1/2 inches up from the bottom hedge. Staining to the reverse of the canvas.
