Engraved Powder Horn Belonging to Jeremiah Eastman, c. 1758, horn with light engraving, marked "IEREMIAH EASTMAN his Horn Sept/SEPTE yE 12 1758" with cross-hatched lines and foliate designs, wooden stopper, and pine plug marked "I E," overall lg. 17 in.
Provenance: Sold to benefit the preservation of the collections of the Danvers Historical Society.
Note: The horn bears the inscription "fort AT West Morland" a fort located in Westmorland, New Hampshire constructed to protect New England from INdian raids.
