Diminutive Sicot DuJardin Console Clock and Bracket, Versailles, c. 1710, boulle inlaid tortoiseshell and lapis lazuli-decorated case with fire gilt mounts, thirteen-piece blue roman and arabic numeral porcelain shields or lozenges with pierced gilt surround, glazed aperture below, lapis lazuli-inlaid sides, resting on the original decorated wall bracket, eight-day time, countwheel hour- and half-hour-strike tandem drive mechanism with crown wheel escapement and silk thread suspension, rear plate engraved "DuJardin a Versailles," clock ht. 14 3/4 in.
Literture: A similar example by DuJardin is seen in Kjellberg's Encyclopedie de la Pendule Francaise, p. 46.

Condition: bracket ht. 6 1/4 in. Some small lifting to veneer, winds, sets and strikes. Time keeping has not been checked. Was purchased in Versailles over a decade ago.
