- Lot Description
David Salle (American, b. 1952)
Grandiose Synonym for Church/Suite of Eight Works, 1985-86, edition of 17 plus proofs, published by Parasol Press, Ltd., New York. Each signed and dated "David Salle 1985" in pencil l.r., and numbered "12/17" in pencil l.l. Color aquatints with lift- and soft-ground on wove paper, sheet sizes 60 3/4 x 48 1/4 in. (154.3 x 122.6 cm), unmatted, unframed.
Condition: Deckled edges, sheets curled, each with pale water or similar staining to margins at lower left corner and along right edge, minor crimps and creases to deckles, minor handling creases. Four with more extensive water staining to margins and the same four with nicks and tears to edges (none more than 1 1/2 inches in length). One of the four also with a 4 x 4 inch paper loss (piece is included with lot) to the lower left corner, two other of the four with gently pressed creases to lower margin and into image (no breaks to paper fibers).Condition
