N.B. Hockney is considered one of Britain's most dominant Pop artists, although it is a categorization that he denies. He is a virtual jack-of-all-trades, embracing new media - from acrylic paint to PhotoShop - and working as a painter, print maker, photographer, and even a set designer. Pembroke Studio Interior employs simple lines and a narrow color palette dominated by primaries. This in conjunction with a special experience that is both an homage to Picasso and bears a close kinship with the results of his own photo-collage work creates a Pop sensibility.
