Currier & Ives, Publishers (American, 19th Century)
Home from the Brook/The Lucky Fishermen
Titled, identified, and dated "...1867" within the matrix.
Folio lithograph with hand-coloring on paper, image size 16 5/8 x 24 3/4 in. (42.3 x 62.8 cm), framed.
Condition: Accretions, foxing, staining, toning, subtle rippling, abrasion or similar to c.r. edge, not examined out of frame.
Provenance: Townshend Collection.
N.B. Among his many pursuits, H.H. Townshend was an avid fisherman, a hobby that surely attracted him to this Currier & Ives print. Mr. Townshend taught fly-tying for many years to the Yale students at the Payne Whitney Gym and used his own flies on the famed Madison River in Montana.Condition
Condition: Framed dimensions are 23 1/2 x 31 1/4 x 1 1/4 inches.
With a label from A.A. Munson's Son, New Haven, Connecticut, affixed to the frame backing paper.
