N.B. Among his many pursuits, H.H. Townshend was an avid fisherman, a hobby that surely attracted him to this Currier & Ives print. Mr. Townshend taught fly-tying for many years to the Yale students at the Payne Whitney Gym and used his own flies on the famed Madison River in Montana.
