Colt .22 Automatic Target (Pre-Woodsman) Semiautomatic Pistol, 1916, serial number 1253, .22 Long Rifle caliber, blued-steel frame and barrel, top of the barrel marked "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO., HARTFORD, CT, U.S.A./PATENTED DEC. 22, 1903.," the left side of the slide marked "COLT AUTOMATIC/CAL. 22 LONG RIFLE" and with rampant horse at the back, left side of trigger guard marked "W," the right side of the receiver engraved "FRANCIS MARSH II/FROM/H.W.L./DEC 1, '34," adjustable front and rear sights, checkered walnut grips with diamond decoration at screw, two two-tone Colt magazines, one marked "CAL. 22/COLT," the other marked "COLT WOODSMAN/CAL. 22 L.R.," and H.H. Heiser brown leather holster, barrel lg. 6 1/2, overall lg. 10 3/8 in.

Condition: Bluing worn on barrel and corners of receiver, frame, and slide; bright bore with sharp rifling, action crisp; holster has wear.
