Provenance: Presented by Michel Dedecker, December, 1980; Galerie Tuffier (Les Andelys) May-June 1981; Patrick Blanchon; Sotheby's Parke Bernet, New York, Paintings, Sculpture, Drawings, May 21, 1982, no. 304; ...; Collection of Leonard Edward Bryant Andrews (1926-2009), Sold in 1990 through the agency of Helen T. Valloti, Media, Pennsylvania, to a private collector residing in Oklahoma and Maine, through to the collector's estate.

N.B. The early part of the provenance, through the Sotheby Parke Bernet auction in 1982, was copied from the entry in the Monet catalogue raisonné published by Wildenstein Institute. The provenance from the Andrews Collection forward was provided by the current consignor's agent. Documentation includes a copy of a bill of sale from Helen T. Valloti , dated October 31, 1990. There is also a letter from Leonard E.B. Andrews that states that the painting was in his possession for a short period of time and subsequently sold through an agent, Helen D. Valloti, on October 31, 1990.
