Classical Carved Mahogany and Mahogany Veneer Card Table, Thomas Hunt & Co., with carving by Thomas Wightman, Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1820-25, the folding top with rounded corners on a beaded skirt and vase- and ring-turned acanthus leaf-carved shaft on a molded and carved plinth and serpentine platform issuing leaf and scroll-carved serpentine legs ending in cast brass hairy paw feet on casters, ht. 29, wd. 36 3/4, dp. 18 in.
Note: The cabinetmaker is identified by a stencil on the interior reading: "T HUNT & Co. Cabinet & Chair manufacturers No. 85 Newbury St. BOSTON."Condition
Condition: cracks, warping and small losses to rounded applied edge. Small patch at one hinge. shrinkage cracks in top. Minor scuffs and abrasions to top.
