British Pattern 1756/1777 Sea Service Pistol, c. 1780s, 12 1/8 in., .58 caliber round barrel with ring decorated breech, Tower of London proof marks, maker's mark "H" and a small crown at the end of the breech plug tang; flat lock plate with two screws behind the cock, pointed tail engraved "TOWER," engraved with a crown over "GR" below the pan along with a stamped crown broad arrow acceptance mark, the inside of the lock plate stamped "SGS" and crown over "1"; walnut stock with carved plateau around the breech plug tang, two crowned inspector's marks stamped on the stock just behind and below the lock mortice, a "T" and crowned initials stamped in the stock at the rear of the side plate, the rammer channel stamped "IW," "TT," two crowned inspector's marks, and "P," brass furniture including butt cap, trigger guard with acorn finial, side plate, and single rammer pipe, wood rammer with brass tip, steel belt hook with numerous numeric and letter marks, overall lg. 19 5/8 in.

Condition
Condition: Iron toned gray/brown with minor underlying pitting; stock with dings, dents, and blemishes; old crack in the stock on the left side between side plate and trigger guard.
