Bifur. [Revue]. Issues 1-8. Paris: Editions du Carrefour, 1929-1931. Eight issues numbered issues, the complete collection, in printed paper wrappers, created by Pierre G. Levy and edited by Georges Ribemont-Dessaigne, published between May 1929 and June 1931, this avant-garde literary review allowed numerous authors and artists a creative outlet for their works including Ivan Goll, Blaise Cendrars, Henry Michaux, Philippe Soupault, Tristan Tzara, Jean Lurcat, Giorgio de Chirico, Francis Picabia, Michel Leiris, Robert Desnos, James Joyce, Ernest Hemingway, Andre Malraux, Jean Giraudoux, Jean-Paul Sartre, etc., each issue illustrated with reproductions of paintings, sculptures, and photographs by Masson, Germaine Krull, Man Ray, Sima, Arp, etc., housed in two custom slipcases, (good overall condition, occasional minor foxing, generally clean throughout), 9 3/8 x 7 1/2 in.
