Mathewes, one of the Assignes of Hester Ogden, 1633, (STC 11432); a large clean copy bound in 19th century dark brown morocco, period-style, tooled in blind over thick boards (rebacked), contemporary inscription at foot of final page, presentation inscription from the Traheron family dated 1720 at foot of engraved title, 13 x 8 3/4 in.
The text consists of the Rheims version of the New Testament presented in parallel columns with the Bishops' Bible version followed by Fulke's commentary at the end of each chapter. The Rheims translation was done chiefly by Gregory Martin; the Bishops' Bible translation was overseen by Matthew Parker.
