Bavarian Silver-gilt Emblem Beaker, Nuremberg, Germany, 1609-29, Hans Reiff, maker, cylindrical, engraved with three emblematic scenes, each with a Latin motto within the emblem cartouche and corresponding German epigram below, the pictorial emblem in an ovoid cartouche framed by a foliate and floral wreath and joined to the other emblems by pendant fruit garlands amidst foliate scrolls, monogram to the underside, ht. 3 1/4 in., approx. 3.5 troy oz.

Very slightly out of round. Age-typical loss to gilt, particularly along edges. Light age-typical usage wear and scattered unobtrusive nicks. Specks of black silver rot and verdigris to interior.
