Condition: Lined, retouch, areas of skinning, stable craquelure, discolored varnish, surface grime.

The work is accompanied by a one-page report from the Smithsonian Institution prepared by Rowland Lyon, Curator, dated December 14, 1965, confirming the scene as Dundee Harbor, Scotland, painted by the English artist, Samuel Scott. The painting was said to have been part of the collection of Mr. Sumner Wells at his estate in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
