View of Vesuvius Erupting and Fisherman Mending Nets by the Bay of Naples
Signed "Romano" in red l.l.
Oil on canvas affixed behind glass, 6 x 7 3/4 in. (15.0 x 19.5 cm), oval format, in an oval, leather-covered presentation box.
Condition: Craquelure, toning, minor staining around the edges of the composition, under raking light some reflective areas on the painting surface, not examined without the glass front.Condition
Condition: Presentation box measures 6 1/4 x 8 x 5/8 in. and is lined with velvet below and satin under the lid. Some staining and fading to the fabric interior, wear to the pebbled leather exterior.
The painting is firmly attached to the glass front.
