Minor paint loss (circular loss, measuring 3/16 in. diameter) located in the center of the work, in the heavy white impasto above the back of the carriage and below the two small buildings. This area also shows some craquelure.
The painting has a new stretcher and new frame. The MFA label was detached and reaffixed to the new stretcher. The new stretcher is stamped "PROTECT-ART/by Charles Bearce" and is also stamped with the maker's patent number.
