N.B. Although best known for his iconic paintings of soup cans and celebrities, Pop artist Andy Warhol was also an avid photographer who made tens of thousands of images between 1970 and 1987. In addition to his many portraits and party subjects, Warhol was also intensely curious about his surroundings, and his gelatin silver prints reveal his eye for detail and design, as well as his compulsive desire to document the world around him.
