American and European Schools, 18th/19th Century Four Unframed Figure Drawings: Attributed to John Singleton Copley (American, 1737-1815), Standing Male Nude, unsigned, artist identified in an inscription on the mat, charcoal with chalk highlights and an applied conte crayon grid on gray laid paper;
Attributed to Matthew Pratt (American, 1734-1805), Seated Man Holding a Wind Instrument, unsigned, attributed in pencil in a later hand on the reverse, conte crayon and pencil on laid paper;
Attributed to Charles Haslewood Shannon (British, 1863-1937), Study of Draped Figures, signed or inscribed and dated "CHS-96" l.r., conte crayon and pencil on paper;
Continental School, 18th Century, Half-length Male Nude, unsigned, pencil with chalk highlights on paper. Sizes to 17 3/4 x 11 7/8 in. Condition: All with toning, creases, foxing; Copley with small tears around some of the hinges, stabilized tears to margins, affixed to window mat at intervals around the reverse, Pratt with small tear to c.r. side, Shannon and Continental School laid down, the Shannon also with possible reinforced signature.
Estimate $400-600 Pratt, sheet size 11 1/2 x 9 in.,with tear to c.l. edge measuring 3/4 inch.
Shannon, sheet size 17 1/2 x 11 5/8 in., laid down on cardboard with mounting bubbles.
Continental Male Nude, sheet size 10 3/4 x 10 1/4 inches, trimmed, laid down.
