- Lot Description
Alexander Cook Walnut Tall Clock, Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, no. 17, c. 1795-1800, turned finials atop swan's-neck hood with carved rosettes, bold cornice moldings, applied central start, freestanding fluted columns, roman numeral painted iron dial with floral decorated arch and spandrels, date and calendar indications and applied engraved brass plaque reading "Alex. Cook Canonsburg No 17," turned and fluted quarter-columns flanking the serpentine-top waist door, base with raised panel, terminating in ogee bracket feet, eight-day time and hour-strike brass movement, regulated by two cast iron weights and a brass-faced pendulum, ht. 96 in.

Condition: wonderful sate of preservation, original finials, seating board, feet, dial with some losses, lacking seconds and calendar hands, movement needs complete overhaul.
