Alexander Calder (American, 1898-1976)
Osaka
Signed and dated "Calder 70" l.r., titled and numbered ".../10.859" on the reverse u.r.
Gouache on paper, 29 1/4 x 42 1/4 in. (74.5 x 107.5 cm), framed.
Condition: Small L-shaped tear (5/8 x 1/4 inch) at u.l. edge stabilized with tape on the reverse, minor creasing to corners, hinged to back mat at three places along the top edge of the reverse.
Provenance: Galerie Maeght, Paris; to Galleria Angolare, Milan (1974); through to the current private Massachusetts collection.
N.B. This work is registered in the archives of the Calder Foundation, New York, under application number A11716.
