N.B. Frank Henry Mason, who painted marine and coastal subjects, knew the sea from personal experience. He was also involved in engineering and shipbuilding. He designed railway posters for the North Eastern Railway (NER), Great Western Railway (GWR) and, as with the poster at hand, the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER). Here he has grouped the vessels to impress potential customers with their strength and chose a low vantage point to further emphasize their extreme mass.

Condition: Framed dimensions are 46 x 56 3/8 inches.
Although the frame was not opened during cataloging, the condition appears good.
