Condition: Lined, old retouch, surface bubbles, varnish inconsistencies and discoloration, surface accretions and grime.
N.B. The inscription on the reverse seems to suggest that the painting once belonged to Joseph Henry Thayer (1828-1901), a distinguished American Biblical scholar, clergyman, and professor at Andover Theological Seminary and Harvard Divinity School.

Condition: Framed dimensions 57 x 42 in. In a carved and gilded decorative frame with substantial losses.
With a second indistinct inscription of a single name or word on the reverse, "...zione."
