18kt Gold Identified Tiffany Naval Aviator Wings, c. 1918, wings with a shield and anchor, engraved on the back "FEDERATION/AERONAUTIQUE/INTERNATIONALE/No. 362" and "ENSIGN WILLIAM A. MAGEE, JR/AUG. 10. 1918/No. 1399," marked along the bottom "TIFFANY & CO/MAKERS/18 KT," copies of Magee's service record accompany the lot, as well as a copy of Flying Officers of the U.S.N., with a listing and picture of Ensign Magee, lg. 2 3/4, ht. 7/8 in.

Note: William Adam Magee Jr. was born in Oakland, California, on April 21, 1895. He joined the United States Navy in San Francisco, California. He attended the University of California, as well as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, both sponsored by the navy and was assigned to Naval Air Station Pensacola for his flight training. Commissioned an ensign on December 12, 1917, it appears he trained in France. He was honorably discharged on September 30, 1921, and died on August 9, 1941.
