A THREE PIECE BELLE ÉPOQUE CLOISONNÉ ENAMELED ORMOLU MANTLE CLOCK WITH RUSSIAN STYLE GARNITURE, SECOND HALF 19TH CENTURY, both probably for the Russian market, and the arched lantern form clock surmounted by a lidded lobed urn with scrolled handles on raised plinth, over an enameled frieze and an arched beveled glass door opening to an off white enameled copper ring dial enclosing Arabic numerals over painted floral festoons above a matching mercury weighted pendulum, within four stylized Corinthian columns on a rectangular base and conforming box plinth raised on similarly detailed toupie feet, verso the brass clockworks stamped with a banner "MADE IN FRANCE," over a pastille "MÉDAILLE D'ARGENT," and numbered "6715 58," beautifully enameled throughout in colorful arabesque cloisonné and champlevé details on a turquoise ground, includes winding key, height: 20", width: 11 1/4", depth: 5 1/4"; together with a pair of Russian style six light candelabras surmounted by billowing smoke bronze and Algerian onyx finials on matching onyx columnar standards issuing "S" scrolled arms ending in flat bobèches centering flaring cylinder nozzles with berried leafy vine in relief, above long pale blue ground enameled stems stopping at green ground cloisonné curling paterae brackets, over ovoid onyx stems mounted with elegant polychrome devices and raised on tripod griffon form legs ending in paw feet partitioned by stylized theatrical smiling masks, height: 23 1/4", diameter: 11 1/2". Condition
Both clock and garniture are in good condition. There is some minor wear of enamel, small chips, some light wear of gilding in areas, but generally, the gilding is warm and buttery golden. The candelabra has been combined with the clock, some mounts are slightly loose, but otherwise in good stable condition. Simpson Galleries does not guarantee any timepiece nor clock mechanism.
