Height: 57 1/4" Width: 39 1/4" Depth: 19 3/4" Note: This bonheur du jour is beautifully constructed and utilizes costly woods such as acajou moucheté (plum pudding mahogany), tulipwood, kingwood, and mahogany. The back has small screws (not nails), and the drawer bottoms have mahogany veneered on both the top and underside of the bottoms. A few of the bronze mounts were removed to look for any identifying marks but none found. Beautifully finished and expensive when first purchased this lovely desk has no identifying marks other than hand inscribed "gauche" (left) and "droite" (right) on the drawers. A noted Parisian establishment Maison Kreiger comes to mind (1826- ca.1900) that made furniture of this quality, style, and period, and often used a paper label which more often than not is lost over the years.
