Raymond Loewy (French-American, 1893-1986) for Rosenthal mid--century porcelain dinner service for twelve in the "Spencer Rose" pattern, each piece with underglaze green marks reading "Rosenthal / Selb-Plossberg / Germany" and with model numbers "3104" in iron red, each gilt-edged piece with a spencerian script rose in gold and teal, and comprising: 12 dinner plates, 12 luncheon/dessert plates, 12 bouillon cups and 12 saucers, 12 soup bowls, 16 coffee cups and 15 saucers, 12 bread plates, 1 covered butter dish, 1 coffee pot, 1 creamer, 1 covered sugar, 1 sauce boat, 3 oval platters, 1 covered vegetable dish, 1 salad bowl, 10 salt and pepper shakers.
