George III sterling silver lidded ewer, with maker's mark of "AB" and marks for sterling to underside of lid, London, 1797, and GIII head to neck, of Neoclassical form with gadrooned, hinged, lidded spout and gadrooned neck above reeded shoulder, with gadrooning also to base and socle on reeded circular base, with Sotheby's tag and LACMA inventory number "M227432 / 18." Not weighable. 13.75" H x 6.5" W x 4.75" D. Provenance: Los Angeles County Museum of Art, LA, CA.; Sotheby's: New York "Important Silver, Russian Works of Art and Objects of Vertu": Sale 7529, lot 294.
