George II Guernsey Sterling Silver Two Handled Cup, struck to underside with marks of Guillaume Henry (French/English, active Guernsey, 1720-1760), Guernsey, circa 1740, the cup later engraved "Charles Marquand" possibly for Charles Marquand (b. Guernsey, Channel Islands, 29 Jun 1798 to John Marquand and Caroline Langlois). 3.5" H x 5" W x 3.5" D; weight: 3.54 ozt. Provenance: Private Collection, New York. Literature: Richard H. Mayne "Old Channel Islands silver", 1st ed., Jersey, 1969, pp. 64-65, plates 27-28; and 2nd ed., Phillimore, 1985, p. 113, plates 154-159.
