- Lot Description
.950-silver, vermeil, and silver-plated metal the pyx's upper chamber and lid of silver, cylindrical for holding the sacramental wafers, atop a silver-plated stem with an urn-shaped knop at the midpoint, all over a silver-plated foot in the form of a flattened bell, the surfaces incised with grape and berry motifs, some arranged to resemble Gothic lancet arches, the interior of the host chamber with a bright vermeil wash; hallmarked around the rim, on the edge of the lid, and on the underside of the chamber, with the French marks used 1798-1809. 8.5" H X 4.5" diameter. Weight approximately 15.7 troy ounces. The lid lacking its original cross finial.

Any item not removed or shipped within this time will be sent to an outside storage company, and may be subject to a storage fee assessed by and payable to that storage company. If an item is to be shipped, it is sent to our UPS store location after the first three (3) business days, unless other shipping arrangements have been made by the buyer. If other arrangements have been made, the buyer must contact our gallery within three (3) days of the auction date to arrange pick-up. All storage fees and invoices must be paid in full to retrieve items sent to storage. Once an item is sent to storage, neither Showplace Antique & Design Center nor The UPS Store is liable for it. Declared value coverage goes into effect once pick up or shipping arrangements are made. You must contact The UPS Store at 212-920-6521 to settle all storage fees and arrange for pick up or shipping.
