Italian Art Deco pearwood marquetry table by the Firm of Francesco Ferrario (Italian, active Milan, 1875-1949), today known as Tarsio Ferrario, with label to underside with the signature of Prof. Pietro Ferrario,and reading: "Ferrario Prof. Francesco / Architettura Scultura e tarsie in legno / Mobili d'Arte / Arredamente Restauri..." and with address on the via Meravigli, placing the date between 1937-1943, of rectangular galleried form with anemone, tulip, and floral figures intarsia-inlaid in exotic hardwoods beneath a glass panel, the incurving sides above four tapering square legs terminating in carved ebony sabots. 19" H x 39" W x 19.5" D. Provenance: Fred Silberman Gallery, Wooster Street, New York, 1991. Property from a Fifth Avenue duplex.
