- Lot Description
Arthur Saron Sarnoff (American, 1912-2000) oil painting on canvas depicting a single-masted cutter boat scene, signed lower right, housed in a distressed black painted wood frame. Image: 19.75" H x 23.5" W; frame: 28" H x 32" W. Note: Arthur Sarnoff was a student of Andrew Wyeth (American, 1917-2009) and John Clymer (1907-1989) and graduated from the Grand Central School of Art in New York City. His illustrations appeared in many advertisements over the course the twentieth century.
