Adamesque ormolu-mounted Wedgwood blue jasperware lion head-handled vases mounted as torchieres, the vases circa 1874, impressed "WEDGWOOD / C" marks to underside of vase, loosely adapted from an original design by Jacques Stella, recorded as shape no. 1399, of bottle-baluster form, the blue jasperware bodies applied with slip-cast white bisque scenes from the myth of Hercules, flanked by tall lion head handles with masque terminals, the lower body with bisque vertical stripes, above a socle foot with leaf-tip molding (the vases 16.5" H), each with Adamesque or Louis XVI manner scrolling acanthus and rosette-mounted four-light candelabra around central caducei, and with incurved square stepped molded paneled bases, the mounts 19th century or later. Now electrified; prior restorations. Each: 40" H x 13" W x 10" D.
