Paneled polished calf binding with blind stamped frame. Gilt stamped titles on spine. Waxed endpapers. Title page illustrated with a woodcut.
The initials A.R. on the title page stand for RAICH [nee Amfiteatrov Semyon Yegorovich (1792-1855), Moscow University graduate of 1818, poet, translator, journalist, publisher of the almanacs New Aonidas (1823) and Northern Lyre. He met Alexander Pushkin in Odessa, where he had a unique opportunity to listen to the author`s readings of Eugeniy Onegin, Song of Oleg the Wise, Muse, Two Crows.
