AN IMPERIAL RUSSIAN SWORD, CHERKESSIAN GALUN SHASHKA, 18TH CENTURY
Curved, single-edged blade with three fullers, the blade engraved with a crescent moon bearing a face on either side, the grip ornately decorated with gilded silver and niello, the leather scabbard with silver mountings with conforming decoration, with a leather belt adorned with silver fittings, length of blade: 79.5 cm (31 1/4 in.), overall length: 104 cm (41 in.)
