LOT NOTES Aleksander Toporkov was a Russian Soviet Avant-garde painter, graphic artist and designer. Toporkov graduated from the Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry in 1918. After he studied in VKhUTEMAS from Aleksey Grishchenko, a Russian Avant-garde artist, futurist, painter and art critic. Toporkov was a member of "Tsvetodinamos". He participated in group exhibition of VKhUTEMAS professors with Aleksey Gritchenko (Color-Dynamics) and Alexander Shevchenko (Tectonic Primitivism) in 1919.
