- Lot Description
A FRENCH GLASS AND ORMOLU CORDIAL SET WITH THREE DECANTERS
comprising:
a) three glasses based on the original 18th century design by the Potemkin Glass Factory, the faceted sides of each cordial glass are ornamented with gilded decoration featuring people strolling amid stylized landscapes, height: 6.5 cm (2 9/16 in.);
b) eight gold rimmed cordial glasses on a high leg with heavy embossed gilding, height: 8.3 cm (3 1/4 in.);
c) three gold rimmed cordial glasses on a high leg with floral garland decoration, height: 6.4 cm (2 1/2 in.);
d) two cut-glass cordials with heavy ormolu areas head decoration; height: 6.9 cm (2 3/4 in.);
e) three decanters of cylindrical form with an elongated neck, each with faceted sides, two with additional patterned cut glass on the shoulder and ornate gilded decoration with bands of gilding and gilded spherical stoppers, one with cut-glass stopper, plus additional gilded spherical stopper; height with stopper: 19.5 cm (7 11/16 in.)
