A BLANC-DE-CHINE GUANYIN AND CHILD

the massive figure of the goddess of mercy shown standing on a lotus, wearing a long layered robe, her hair pinned in a bun with a tiara and jewelry, the rest of the hair tied into two knotted tresses over the shoulders, in left hand she is holding a small vase in an upside down position, her right hand is in the gesture of karana mudra meant to expel demons and spirits, her attendant is shown standing on a small lotus flower with his hands held in a gesture of greeting and adoration, height: 58 cm (22 3/4 in.)
