Menorcan four seater bench. Hepplewhite style, ca.1800. Walnut wood. Measurements: 95 x 185 x 50 cm. Menorcan four-seater bench. Of English design, it is clearly inspired by the works of George Hepplewhite (1727-1786), whose furniture dominated the English market in the last quarter of the 18th century. George Hepplewhithe (1727 - 1786) was an important maker of chairs and cabinets, one of the "big three" of English cabinetmaking in the 18th century, along with Thomas Sheraton and Thomas Chippendale. Hepplewhite gave his name to an entire style, light and elegant, which was fashionable from the last quarter of the 18th century through the 19th century and continues to be valued today.
