Manuel M. López Menárguez is an acclaimed painter from Murcia with an extensive artistic career of more than three decades dedicated to painting and, currently, to sculpture. A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos, Valencia, specializing in mural painting, Menárguez has worked as an interior architect and designer for the International Federation of Interior Architects at the National College, as well as a decorator at the School of Applied Arts and Artistic Trades in Valencia. He continued his studies with a restoration course in Painting and Metallic Corrosion at L'institute Française de Restauration des Ouvres dÁrt, Paris; with a course in Stained Glass at the École National Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris; with a course on Gilding Reintegration, Institut Française de restauration des Ouvres dÁrt, Paris and, finally, with a course on Manual and Mechanical Reintegration of Graphic Documents given by the Instituto de Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales de Madrid. He also enjoyed a one-month stay in the restoration department of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía. Throughout his career as an artist Menárguez has exhibited in various solo exhibitions, among which are: "Cuando los muros viven" Fundation National, Paris, 1989, "Viaje al interior de París" Museo de Bellas Artes, Murcia, 1991; "Reflejos" UNESCO, Paris. Tressor Gallery, Barcelona, 1991; "Encounters", J. Lumbreras Fine Art Gallery, Miami, USA, 1992; "Reflections II" Ralb & Co Gallery, Miami Art Center, Miami, Florida, 2001; Shorou Gallery, Nagazaki Center, Ginza Chou Street. Tokyo, 2002; "New School of Athens" and New Century Artist Gallery, Chelsea, New York, 2004. Menárguez's work is currently represented in the Museo de Bellas Artes de Murcia, the Instituto de Fomento de Murcia, the Museo Hidráulico de Murcia, Caja Madrid, the Florida Museum of Hispanic and Latin American Art, Miami, the Mapfre Company of Murcia, the Diputación de Albacete, the Palilio Family Collection in Manila, Philippines, among many other institutions.
