JAVIER ARTICA (Pamplona, 1984).
"Migration", 2020.

Imposing in the center of the composition, rests a large mountain as the protagonist of the piece. Next to it, a flock of birds seems to leave the scene. The presence of the large mountain prevents the viewer from seeing what the birds are fleeing from, thus showing a disturbing and threatening nature, which the artist manages to capture through very reduced elements; an austere palette based on a scale of grays, a natural phenomenon, and the presence of the birds.
Javier ártica began his artistic education studying Fine Arts at the University of Salamanca. After finishing his studies in 2008, he began his artistic career, exhibiting his work individually in many cities in Spain, such as Avilés, Pamplona and Salamanca. Although he has also participated in various group exhibitions in Barcelona, Bilbao, Valladolid, etc.. In addition, in 2020 he was the protagonist of the program "Desatados", broadcasted by Spanish Radio Television. Currently, he has established his workshop in the city of Madrid, where he carries out collage and painting projects. His work is characterized by a realistic aesthetic language, highlighting an extensive and light brushstroke, which tends to vibration, resulting in an expressive and rhythmic finish, where the doubtful and the instinctive, come together. Artica, introduces the viewer into a world where the dreamlike and the real merge, through reminiscences of surreal connotation, creating a synergy between the two concepts.
