To make this work, the artist has been inspired by the singer Amy Winehouse. Specifically, in the last concert she gave, on June 18, 2011, in Belgrade. At this time the British artist's health condition was very delicate, and the fragility of her conditions, both physical and emotional, came to light on stage. The work shows the precise moment in which Amy brings her hands to her face, covering her face, an instant that speaks of the weaknesses of a myth, and the weaknesses of the human being. A work that stands out for its conceptual and aesthetic expressiveness, which is understood from the use of a palette of tonality reduced to the essential.
Javier ártica began his artistic education studying Fine Arts at the University of Salamanca. After finishing his studies in 2008, he began his artistic career, exhibiting his work individually in many cities in Spain, such as Avilés, Pamplona and Salamanca. Although he has also participated in various group exhibitions in Barcelona, Bilbao, Valladolid, etc.. In addition, in 2020 he was the protagonist of the program "Desatados", broadcasted by Spanish Radio Television. Currently, he has established his workshop in the city of Madrid, where he carries out collage and painting projects. His work is characterized by a realistic aesthetic language, highlighting an extensive and light brushstroke, which tends to vibration, resulting in an expressive and rhythmic finish, where the doubtful and the instinctive, come together. Artica, introduces the viewer into a world where the dreamlike and the real merge, through reminiscences of surreal connotation, creating a synergy between the two concepts.
