Ferruccio Gard, (Vestignè, Torino, 1940). "Autorritrato" Acrylic on canvas/ acryliconfabric. Measurements: 70 x 70 cm. Ferruccio Gard is an Italian sports commentator and painter considered one of the most influential artists and precursor of international kinetic art. His work has led him to participate in seven editions of the Venice Biennale. The vibration of his painting, the illusory depths and his compositional rigor show a dialogue based on color, geometry and the luminous pulsation of his dynamic wefts. Gard's creations experiment with the multiple possibilities of visual perception, actively involving the viewer not only in the enjoyment but also in the creation of the artwork itself. The artist invites the public to interact with his works by using the principles of optical illusion, making them look different depending on the angle from which they are observed. During his career he has had numerous international exhibitions in prestigious museums such as the National Gallery of Modern Art in Prague, the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome, the MACBA, Museum of Contemporary Art in Buenos Aires or the MACLA, Museum of Contemporary Art in La Plata, Argentina. In addition, he has had more than 170 solo exhibitions around the world, including New York, Miami, Beijing, Osaka, Bogota, Panama City, London, Salzburg and Brussels. In 2019, he entered the prestigious Farnesinade Collection of Italian Contemporary Art, considered the most important in the world.
